Authorities say two brothers — one from New York and the other from Connecticut — were arrested after allegedly attempting to move more than 200 pounds of marijuana through Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
According to officials, Christopher Adorno, who is from Connecticut, and Alexis Adorno, who is from New York, were stopped during an enforcement operation targeting incoming flights.
A K-9 unit reportedly alerted officers to their luggage.
Investigators say Alexis was found with more than 120 pounds of marijuana and is being held at the Wake County Detention Center on a $1 million bond. Christopher allegedly had nearly 70 pounds and has since posted a $250,000 bond.
Both men are facing trafficking and conspiracy charges as the case moves forward.
