According to law enforcement, Easy Deli, located on Fallkill Avenue in Poughkeepsie, sold a chocolate bar containing 1,000 milligrams of THC — far surpassing the legal threshold of 10 milligrams per serving. The customer who consumed the bar reportedly experienced a severe adverse reaction and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
In response, the New York State Office of Cannabis Management intervened and physically padlocked the deli, effectively suspending its operations while the matter is investigated further.
Officials emphasized that the THC level claimed in this incident is dramatically higher than what New York law permits for edible cannabis products. The investigation continues, and the deli remains closed pending regulatory review and enforcement action.
