CAPITAL REGION, NY (WRGB) — In the span of about a decade, Eric Canori says he illegally sold hundreds of millions of dollars worth of marijuana in New York State.
“I understand the high-end cannabis market on the East Coast probably better than anybody.”
After a stint in prison, he’s written a book about his prior pot business which he describes as a “Fortune 500” company in the underworld. Now, he plans to use what he learned from his criminal past to thrive in New York’s legal cannabis business.
“I went to high school in Queensbury, New York,” Canori said.
Canori grew up in the North Country and lives in Saratoga Springs, but his story about years spent as a wholesale marijuana dealer on the black market is anything but average.
“I grew a massive organization before cannabis was legal in any state in the country,” Canori said.
Canori says he started selling marijuana in 11th grade, by his twenties he was running a massive enterprise across the Canadian border and cross country.
“By age 29, I had smuggled more than $300 million worth,” Canori said. “It’s like any Fortune 500 company,” he continued.
Except it was all illegal.
