A morning visit to Calf Pasture Beach took a dramatic turn when a local man allegedly turned a parking lot into his personal racetrack and a cannabis dispensary. Authorities report that 37-year-old Alexander Freedman of Norwalk was stopped after performing reckless maneuvers in a BMW X1, including spinning in circles and speeding through the lot. Witnesses claim Freedman threatened another individual with a firearm during the incident.
Police located Freedman nearby and took him into custody without incident. A search of his vehicle revealed nearly five pounds of marijuana, along with vape cartridges, a jar of concentrated hashish, and a metal impact weapon—far exceeding Connecticut’s legal possession limits.
Connecticut law permits adults 21 and older to carry a limited amount of cannabis, making the seized haul significantly above what is allowed.
Freedman now faces multiple charges, including threatening, reckless driving, possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, possession and sale of cannabis with intent to distribute, and use of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $125,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on November 6.
Officials praised the swift response of police officers, noting that their prompt action prevented a potentially dangerous situation and removed a substantial quantity of illegal substances from public circulation.
