Massachusetts Cannabis Boom
I can sit here and talk all day about the million and one pros of legalization of cannabis. I’m sure you may have a good idea already.
As Dad previously mentioned today, Massachusetts is one of the five states which has recreational cannabis on the ballot in November. This morning Yahoo Finance announced that “AmeriCann Completes Land Purchase for Development of Large-Scale Massachusetts Cannabis Production Center.” AmeriCann actually purchased the 53 acre property from a surprising source; the makers of Sam Adams beer. The property is going to be repurposed as the “MMCC” (Massachusetts Medical Cannabis Center). This will become one of the largest and most high-tech facilities for cannabis cultivation in the United States.
The local Connecticut chapter of NORML was recently reformed. This organization will continue to fight for legalization and grow rights for Connecticut residents. Massachusetts is a border state, so we can expect big changes to occur if Question 4 legislation is passed. Cannabis could be more readily available on the black market at a price that may be cheaper than the CT medical program provides. This in turn should lead politicians to reconsider why we have a small market for such an incredible revenue stream. Hopefully, it will lead to changing local laws.
However, the cookie crumbles with the legislation. We, at Dabbin Dad, will continue fighting for legalization and grow rights for everyone here in CT. We hope for the day to come, when cannabis myths are forever dispelled and prohibition is a joke of the past.
