Cannabis Social Clubs: The Hottest Thing Smoking?
Cannabis has been used as a social tool for thousands of years. I’ve met some of my best friends through cannabis. Colorado is actively working on legislation to legalize cannabis social clubs in the state. Recreational cannabis is legalized in Colorado, as well as seven other states. Senate Bill 184 called “Private Marijuana Clubs Open and Public Use” if passed, will legalize cannabis clubs for adults legal. Bars have been a staple of american culture since the end of alcohol prohibition, so it would only make sense that there be establishments created for legal adults to enjoy their cannabis together.
Obviously, we know cannabis is a hell of a lot safer than alcohol in nearly every single way. It has a million and one health benefits and it’s a pastime commonly shared by millions of americans. Cannabis social clubs seem relatively foreign to Americans, due to the past legal classification, but they are long overdue. For years, medical or recreational, people have consumed cannabis in open defiance of the law…..it’s about time consumers have a safe, legal place to access their medicine/recreation with fellow smokers. Even places like Holland, Belgium, and Spain are becoming more open to the presence of the clubs.
Our politicians will never wind up supporting these types of things if they don’t know that we truly want them. Thankfully there are organizations like NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, incase you didn’t know the acronym) who are fighting for the voice of the people and dispelling years of false information.
