This Week in Weed…
has been a hectic yet very productive, so let me break down some stuff that caught my attention from the Cannabis headlines…….
Week in Weed #1: There are many anti-cannabis arguments based on ridiculous bullshit, but it seems like there is one most of us overlooked… global warming. You may wonder how cannabis has anything to do with global warming, well let me explain. To grow cannabis in Washington and Colorado, it consumes approximately 1% of the total energy used. Through the processes of illumination, dehumidification and air conditioning a lot of carbon is released into the atmosphere. We need to come up with a clean source of energy. It’s great to want to help sick people, but if we’re doing it in a way where it can’t be sustainable for very long, we need to reevaluate our options!
Week in Weed #2: Donald Trump came out Monday Night and proceeded to say some more shit that baffled me. He stated, veterans are only afflicted with PTSD if they are “weak” or that’s what the mainstream media is reporting. Multiple studies have come out showing that cannabis calms down the symptoms of PTSD. “It is not a sign of weakness to get help,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest said. “In fact, it’s a sign of character and a sign of strength to ensure that you’re taking care of yourself.” The alarming statistic of approximately 22 veterans committing suicide every day is fucking terrifying. Veterans need safe access to natural medicine without repercussions, it’s life or death. We need to continue aiding those that protect our freedoms!
Week in Weed #3: Finally, the cannabis world gained an unlikely advocate. On Sunday, Justin Bieber tweeted out a video talking about how cannabis can be used instead of addictive pharmaceutical medicines. The makers of fentanyl donated half a million dollars to anti-legalization legislation, so we need all the help and celebrity advocates we can get! The only way we can achieve the change we want to see, is if we form Unity in our Cannabis Community. #UnityInCommunity
The world of cannabis is constantly evolving and we at Dabbin Dad are trying to help you keep up! Please share!
