I’m almost positive that all of you have probably owned a furry companion before if not currently. They really do become a member of the family over time! As any good family member knows; even if a situation is tough to deal with; you do everything you can for the ones you love.
Well, yesterday a beloved furry friend of mine passed away.
His name was Shadow and he was honestly one of the best animals I’ve ever had the pleasure of forming a bond with. It was suspected he may have had a stroke 2 weeks or so back. At first there wasn’t really anything noticeably wrong with him besides the fact he was spending a lot of time in the heat.
A couple days later I noticed his legs were shaky as he walked and he began to softly cry. He was in pain and it was breaking my heart. I didnt have any pharmaceuticals at my disposal, so I began giving him doses of Cannabis Oil infused into Coconut Oil to curb his pain and to help him relax.
After a few doses he was able to get up and walk with more strength and even tried jumping around like his old self. I went to bed with a strong hope for him and even said a prayer. When I woke up he was doing worse so we all sat down as a family and talked. We came to the agreement that if he started doing any worse we were going to go to the vet and have him put down. Well, kitty began getting worse so we called and made the appointment. I knew the time to say goodbye to my little buddy was upon me, and within the hour before even leaving the house he passed away. We had to call the vet back, they told us they were sorry for our loss.
If you’ve ever had to deal with someone you love ‘s end of life care; you’d understand the feeling of wanting to do anything you can to keep them comfortable and as pain free as possible. I really loved him and tried my absolute best to give him an awesome life!
Long Live Shadow the cat!
