O Canada, Our home and native land!
Currently there is a bill, waiting to be turned into law, which legalizes the recreational use of cannabis in Canada. So far it is the only fully developed nation to bring about legalization.
Obviously there are a lot of upsides, such as; the crime rate falling, expunging cannabis possession related charges and opening up the nation to a whole new revenue stream. The tax dollars of legalization could do a million and one good things for the country. It won’t be quite the cannabis filled utopian society you believe it will be though.
In the bill they will have the right to banned home grow. (If you’re legalizing cannabis as a whole, that kind of defeats the purpose but what do I know?). Vapor and edible products weren’t introduced in the bill either from all my information, which seems strange. It’s strange because concentrates and edibles are the most discreet/least offensive way to consume cannabis…sans the smoke. It also negates any advertisement from any cannabis related company.
The advertising part isn’t strange to me, but with all these questions left unanswered it will without a doubt push back the day it’s passed and its actual start date by a least a couple months. It would appear to be a stall tactic already worked in.
I know Canada isn’t behind the times by any means but I’m glad to see they are being so progressive and leading the charge in cannabis legalization. Hopefully they can come to a reasonable solution and get Canada on the fast track!
Every nation, every adult person deserves the right to choose if cannabis works for them.
