DEA finds CBD illegal
It is with a heavy heart that I have to mention, CBD oil is now technically illegal.
Yesterday , the DEA ruled that any “marihuana” extract is a schedule I substance. The new law umbrellas any extract (psycho active or not) made from ANY cannabinoids. It is in effect as of January 13th, 2017. The Dabbin Dad team can tell you a million and one stories about the positive benefits of CBD, we all know its awesome. This issue breaks down to everyone not having effective access to a medicine that is known to save lives, even if there is no implication of getting high or having any recreational use. I understand the concept of regulating like alcohol in the case of high thc cannabis, but this is just insane.
The schedule I status of any substance means there is no potential health benefits in the eyes of the government. There will never be funds allotted for testing nor will there be any safe usage clinics. It’s a sad society we live in, where we value dollars over quality of life. If this is the land of the free and the home of the brave, Im not too sure why our government is afraid of a tiny plant. We’ve locked up more people than most other countries and have the highest rate of recidivism. It’s about time we end the war on cannabis and free the plant for all medical and recreational purposes.
