Incase you aren’t hip to the problem, there is a serious lurking danger in synthetic cannabinoids. It’s sold under names such as; K2, Spice, Black Mamba, and Scooby Snax….etc. There are many names for synthetic cannabinoids and most companies have the same process for making them, but use a barrage of different chemical additives. They are made up of a mix of dried plant material and herbs made to look like tobacco or cannabis (varying colors). After they select a mix of plant and herb material they spray it with a chemical that mimics THC.
A lot of the chemicals used are in a family of substances known as “research chemicals,” because not much is known about them nor are they approved by any kind of bureau or agency. Chemicals poppin up frequently are JWH-018, UR-144, AKB4, and AB-PIN-ACA, just to name a few. Some of them can be up to a 100 times stronger than THC! It mimics the effect of thc on the brain but a lot of these chemicals work on many other receptors causing odd behavior (zombie like state) and a rash of overdoses among a litany of other health problems.
Synthetic cannabinoids are smoked. such as regular cannabis, but instead of the healing properties of cannabis there are many negative side effects like; high blood pressure, nausea, seizures, and severe anxiety. Not to mention deaths have been linked to synthetic cannabinoids. Now I understand trying to save money, trying to beat a drug test or whatever the situation may be, but is it worth a serious health scare just to achieve a high that is nothing like cannabis?
Now the bigger problem is when one brand becomes illegal another one pops up with the exact same look, but just using a new mixture of chemicals that have not been readily regulated yet as to get away from legal responsibility. I guess it’s their form of plausible deniability. Many of the chemicals that were staples of popular brands have been moved to a schedule one status. What it comes down to is, we need to push to have marijuana legalized. If not fully, at least decriminalized and medically legal in every state. It all starts with you! Call or write your current local politicians and explain where you’re coming from. Vote for local politicians who have your interests in the front of their platform of change, even nationally, vote for a candidate for president who will represent what matters to you.
Don’t tarnish cannabis’ good name with crap like this. Cannabis is a healing herb, these…..these are just shitty drugs.
