Good Morning Everyone!
I’m not a big New Year’s resolution person. I really don’t feel like making empty promises to myself, just because it’s a new year. Not that it’s bad, by any means, but just because it’s a new year doesn’t mean I need to make a change. That being said, I have found myself with some more free time in 2016. For the last four years, I was working the overnight shift at work. For anyone that has had to work overnights, could possibly relate to the lack of motivation I felt during the day. Personally, I would not sleep more than 4-5 hours a day and if I was lucky it would be unbroken sleep. I always put my family and work needs before myself.
2016, brings new opportunities for me and I’m truly excited I no longer work overnights. I already noticed I’m sleeping more relaxed and for longer durations. Since I still don’t sleep throughout the night, I find myself up at 5 am waiting for my family to get up and get ready for the day. Today, I decided I don’t want to waste this opportunity any longer and since I haven’t necessarily been the best at taking care of myself, I joined a gym. Let me tell you, I was happy to see that the gym was not packed. I was able to get in and out without waiting for anything. I guess all the new gym goers, like myself, are hitting the gym after 5pm. Go me! I have no weight-loss goals, I just want to start taking better care of my well-being.
I look forward to all the challenges and new opportunities in the new year. No more school, no more overnights, no more excuses! Keeping an eye on the prize!
