Why would one be disturbed, you ask?
To start…
The lottery for this whole process has been nothing less than a cash grab. Any local “little guys” never stood a chance at the purchasing power of the MSOs (Multi State Operators) to enter multiple submissions.
That table was sloped!
All in the name of getting as much money as they could. It didn’t matter how they got it, so long as they got it. That’s all that ever mattered.
Lotteries for social equity were extortion disguised as “good motives.” The state then ran webinars full of future promises in an effort to steal more money from the populace.
Then there was the recent release from the Department of Consumer Protection, communicating to the patients that they needed to stock up before the rec opener. Wait.. What? Stock up? Are you saying you’re selling the patient’s medicine to the general population for recreational purposes? So you (The State of Connecticut) can make your extra 20% in sales tax? Wow… That’s perverted.
You want to further balance your books on the broken backs of sick people? Shame on you. The last time I looked at the law, it indicated that a steady supply needed to be provided to the patient base under the state law. Are you planning on breaking your own law? Figures.
When they were the ones who already paid for it, you make patients second-best now. Even after the DCP stole $169,173.97 in 2017 from the patient base by taking a month away from all of them due to their inability to process a card.
Make no mistake. There will be shortages in the supply line because of this as well. Sure… All of these guys are in the pipeline:
CT Plant-Based Compassionate Care, LLC
Insa CT, LLC
Shangri-La Dispensary
Soulstar CT, LLC
Nova Farms Connecticut LLC
The Flower House LLC
FFD 149 LLC
The Yard Connecticut LLC
Quinnipiac Valley Growth Partners, LLC
Impact Initiatives LLC
MariMed CTP LLC
Connecticut Cultivation Solutions, LLC
FRC Holdings LLC
River Growers CT LLC
Connecticut Social Equity, LLC
The Cannabis Garden LLC
It’s uncertain when the new guys will fully be online to provide product.
But right now, you’ll only be getting Advanced Grow Labs, Curaleaf, CT Pharma, and Theraplant.
With that being said, only 4 producers supplying the recreational aka “Adult- use” market, as well as medical. But it’s all the same at the dispensary, right?
The seven dispensaries that are expected to be open on the first day of recreation are:
Affinity, New Haven
RISE, formerly known as Bluepoint Wellness of Connecticut, Branford
Fine Fettle Dispensary, Newington
Fine Fettle Dispensary, Stamford
Fine Fettle Dispensary, Willimantic
The Botanist, Montville
Zen Leaf, formerly known as Willow Brook Wellness, Meriden
Recreational sales will start at Still River Wellness in Torrington and The Botanist in Danbury later in 2023. In the meantime, both are still providing medical patients with their medicine.
Only 7 in the whole state. It’s amateur hour in Connecticut, ladies and gentlemen. It’s like the opening day of the medical program: seven places to go to with nothing on the shelf. Remember?
Except that now they have other people’s medicines to sell off. Make sure you get your 20% for the blood-sucking leeches.
Another quick note. Recently, The Connecticut Lost Shore Bird (Michelle Seagull) got a unanimous vote to raise the cannabis mold levels to 100,000 colony-forming units per gram. Patients had advocated for a limit of 10,000 units per gram.

Otherwise… Have fun on Tuesday!
