Rolling a joint is an art form, and there are many different ways to do it. Some people prefer to use rolling machines, while others prefer to roll their joints by hand. Regardless of your preference, there are some basic steps that you need to follow if you want to roll a joint that smokes well and burns evenly. In this blog post, I will go over the steps to roll a joint by hand.
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
To roll a joint, you will need a few supplies: cannabis flower, rolling papers, and a filter. You can also use a grinder to break down the cannabis into smaller pieces, but this is optional. Make sure you have a clean, flat surface to work on, and a flat tool (like a credit card) to help you pack the joint.
Step 2: Prepare Your Rolling Paper
Take a rolling paper and hold it with the sticky side facing you. Some rolling papers come with a pre-rolled filter, but if yours doesn’t, you can make one by folding a small piece of paper into a “W” shape and placing it at one end of the rolling paper. This will help prevent the cannabis from falling out of the joint.
Step 3: Add the Cannabis
Take a small amount of ground cannabis and place it in the rolling paper. The amount of cannabis you use will depend on your personal preference and the size of the rolling paper. Don’t overfill the rolling paper, or it will be difficult to roll.
Step 4: Shape the Joint
Using your fingers, shape the cannabis into a cylinder that is roughly the same diameter as the filter. Make sure the cannabis is evenly distributed throughout the joint.
Step 5: Roll the Joint
Using your thumbs and index fingers, gently roll the paper back and forth to shape the joint. Tuck the paper closest to you under the cannabis, and use your thumbs to roll the paper up and over the cannabis. Lick the sticky edge of the paper and press it down to seal the joint.
Step 6: Pack the Joint
Using a flat tool, like a credit card, gently pack the cannabis down into the joint. This will help the joint burn evenly.
Step 7: Twist and Light
Twist the open end of the joint to keep the cannabis from falling out, and then light the other end. Take a few puffs to make sure the joint is burning evenly, and then enjoy!
Rolling a joint takes practice, so don’t be discouraged if your first attempts don’t turn out perfectly. With a little practice, you’ll be rolling perfect joints in no time. Or just go out and buy a prerolled cone and just pack it with a little stick. Either way, have fun.
