“The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth / And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath”
By Clement Clarke Moore
(1823 in his poem A Visit from St. Nicholas later known as ’Twas the night before Christmas)
Normally tokers don’t really need a reason to light up. Sure 4/20 and 7/10 are really fun, so 12/25 is as good of a reason as any. However we always pick up a little extra something else for Christmas (or whatever you celebrate during Dec) to light on fire for the Holiday Season.
The cheery pipe smoker Santa brings to mind a time when people smoked baccy—a potent concoction of meadow and woodland plants commonly containing cannabis—rather than merely tobacco. So simply put, Santa is out getting baked and eating cookies.
Evergreens, holly, mistletoe, cinnamon, cloves, oranges, almonds, gingerbread, potpourri, and even cannabis are all hand me downs from earlier customs, despite the fact that belief systems have changed over time. Weed plays a significant role in the holiday season today; whether it’s smoking it, eating it, or putting it on display like a Yule-log.
Enjoy your day…
Any way you can.
Happy Holidays.
