Dabbin Dad officially is celebrating being online for a year. I’m extremely happy with the progress of the program within the state from ground up flower to the high quality flowers and concentrates, we see today. I would be happier if the program allowed easier access to the medicine, lower state fees and more affordable options. There are patients that require a higher standard of life that simply cannot afford the cost of cannabis in the state program. Even though the program is growing in numbers, I still think that there is an association of patient numbers and the high cost to be a legal patient. State penalties for possession is less than the cost of the program, I think that is backwards thinking. The state should want patients to have access to safe medicinal alternative as we fight a raging war against Opiate addition.
I started this page to have an outlet for my issues and to discuss life being a Veteran living with PTSD and raising a family while medicating with cannabis. I have a strong support system around me and King Dab helped me launch the site. I always thought that I would continue writing as long as someone was reading; I’ve been more than overwhelmed with joy in the response the site has received. I started the CT MMP Strain Name DB to help me understand the names and to find the correct cannabis for me. Since I was compiling the information, my only thought was how I could integrate the listing to the site to help other patients thru the confusion. I like to think that I’m an experienced patient, I know what helps me get thru the day. I love to research, so I understand the terpenes components and how different strains target and treat different ailments. What is good for PTSD, is not necessarily good for pain management etc. It is important to understand what you are taking; at least it is for me. The state naming criteria, while intended to take a medical approach and less offensive to the patient, does not allow me or any patient to research the years of information on each strain which are available.
In the past year, I have met a lot of people in the past year in the local and state level cannabis communities. Everyone has been amazing from the Dabbin Dads of the Month, CT Weed Reviews, the Norml meetings, Kushley, The Healing Corner, AGL, Curaleaf and too many more to list. I’m excited for Pete’s Corner and his Words of Wisdom to discuss a different take on medicating with cannabis and his experiences being a patient. Dabbin Dad is about sharing information, in attempts to help the patient while occasionally providing comedic social content. I do love my marijuana memes, hahahaha.
I’m happy to say that Dabbin Dad is here to stay; I hope to make more contacts and grow the site larger this year as I enter out of the cannabis closet. We are always looking new content, so if you have any contribution ideas, please reach out.
