Last week, I took a step back from Dabbin Dad and went on a vacation with the family to upstate New York. Wifi wasn’t the greatest where we were staying, so I spent quality time with my family and untapped from the digital world. I didn’t even turn on the TV for a week, I was shocked when I got home and found the world appeared to be upside-down with all this hate and violence. Without getting political, I really don’t get why people can’t get along and act civilized. Stop the hate!
While I was unplugged from the world, I decided to take a nice day trip with my father into Canada. We did a few random things on our adventure, but my favorite part was stopping off at a head shop in Kingston, Ontario. I came across this gem per some recommendations. I heard that this location had a Vape Room where you could medicate. Naturally, I was stoked about this and I had to stop thru! Yes, I went to a head shop with my Pops!
I walked into this cool shop, 420 Kingston, with a huge smile on my face. I was greeted by the amazing staff the second I opened the door. I briefly explained who I was and that I was a medical patient from the US. They were more than happy to talk about cannabis and the environment in Canada. Unfortunately, they needed to tell me right away that the vape lounge upstairs had to be closed, at least temporarily, because of recent police raids of local cannabis lounges. While cannabis is legal medically across Canada, recreational legalization is not, but is slated for 2017. According to Canadian law, not only is it legal for patients with a prescription to smoke marijuana, but the province of Ontario legalized smoking in some public places. Although the law has been tightened since it’s initial passing in late 2015, it still allows marijuana patients to smoke and vape outside of their homes. That was until mid May, when local police started shutting down cannabis establishments. I was a little bummed at first, but this head shop was still cooler than anyone I’ve been to in the states… they sold seeds! See in Canada, patients have the right to grow as well. Since I took the trip, I just had to purchase something. As we all know glass can be expensive, but boy did I come across this gem.
This sweet beaker is 18″ and 9mm thick glass. It has some great weight to it! If it was branded Roor, I would’ve needed to spend $400 plus, but this awesome piece of Canadian glass was $68 US or $79 Canadian! I am more than thrilled with this piece and I would definitely recommend picking one up if you ever come across them. For those that attended the 710 party at The OuterSpace, you know how nice this was setup with the enail. Set at 850 degrees for two hours straight, I had no issues and didn’t need to worry about the glass cracking under the high temperature. I now have my new favorite setup!!
