Two vape shop employees were arrested and charged after police reportedly seized seven pounds of marijuana, illegal THC products and over $1,000 in cash during a search in Norwalk, police said.
On Thursday, the Norwalk Police Department‘s Special Services Division, along with the Connecticut State Department of Consumer Protection’s Drug Control Division, executed a search and seizure warrant at Smoke House 1 vape shop, located at 108 Connecticut Ave., as part of an ongoing investigation into non-licensed smoke and vape shops selling marijuana in Norwalk, according to police.
Investigators reportedly seized over seven pounds of marijuana, several hundred products containing THC above the legal level and approximately $1,200, police said.
Two employees were placed under arrest, according to police.
Nusrat Shaika, 20, of Bronx, New York, was charged with possession with intent to sell one kilogram or more of cannabis, possession of cannabis greater than one kilogram, possession of drug paraphernalia, conspiracy to commit possession with intent to sell one kilogram or more of cannabis, conspiracy to commit possession greater than one kilogram of cannabis and conspiracy to commit use of drug paraphernalia, police said.
MD Shohidul Joy, 19, of Queens, New York was charged with possession with intent to sell one kilogram or more of cannabis, possession of cannabis greater than one kilogram, possession of drug paraphernalia, conspiracy to commit possession with intent to sell one kilogram or more of cannabis, conspiracy to commit possession greater than one kilogram of cannabis and conspiracy to commit use of drug paraphernalia, according to police.
