The operation, led by Gardaí as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt organized criminal activity, took place on Wednesday following intelligence received by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau. Officers conducted a search of the property under warrant and discovered a large haul of suspected cannabis herb.
The seizure included approximately 100 kilograms of cannabis, carefully packaged and believed to be prepared for distribution across the region. Gardaí confirmed that no arrests have been made at this time, but investigations are continuing, with forensic analysis underway to confirm the exact nature of the substance.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána emphasized the force’s continued commitment to targeting drug trafficking networks operating within the country. “This operation demonstrates the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation and targeted intelligence in disrupting serious criminal enterprises,” they said.
This latest seizure adds to the growing tally of large-scale cannabis interceptions across Ireland in recent months, as authorities intensify efforts to curb the illicit drug trade and dismantle trafficking operations.
Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to Gardaí as part of the broader strategy to maintain community safety and uphold the rule of law.
