KALAMAZOO, MI — With stoner food, terpene-infused beer, branded rolling papers and more, one Kalamazoo-area brewery is ready to celebrate America’s favorite stoner holiday.
One Well Brewing, at 4213 Portage St., will tap its new “Gotta Rip This” Hazy IPA on Thursday, April 20. The beer, which consists of terpenes from two specific ErrlKing strains and naturally dank Galaxy and Amarillo hops, has a distinct scent.
“The aroma of the beer is straight cannabis, but of course there’s no THC,” said One Well Marketing Director Andrew McLean.
Terpenes are aromatic oils that give marijuana its distinctive smell. The beer has no THC or CBD.
In addition to a tapping of the terpene-infused brew, One Well will also sell cans of the Hazy IPA to go. Each order will also come with One Well-branded rolling papers, McLean said.
The brewery, which partnered with Waypoint Processing of Bangor on the beer, is utilizing the King Louis VIII and Grapefruit Kush strains made by ErrlKing Concentrates at the Bangor facility.
In turn, ErrlKing will be spraying pre-rolled joints with the non-THC, non-CBD terpenes, as well as flavoring some distillate cartridges, as part of its joint venture with One Well. The cartridges and pre-rolls will be available for sale exclusively at Doja and Lake Effect beginning Thursday.
No weed products will be sold at the pub and no consumption is allowed on site, McLean said.
There will be a 4/20 cheers for all those there at 4:20 p.m. Thursday; however. Ideally, McLean said, people will choose to cheers the new Gotta Rip This.
“I’m pretty excited about this,” One Well Owner Chris O’Neill said. “Doing the terpene-infused beer with the terpene-infused weed products and then kind of tying everything together with a couple local dispensaries, I think that’s pretty cool.”
For those that stop by the pub, stoner food specials include:
Stoner Pie: A pizza with a bacon-jam base, cheese, crumbled bacon on top, pepperoni, chicken tender bites and potatoes on top.
Teddy’s Dank Nachos: Features Monterey Jack cheese, black bean puree and corn salsa, topped with coleslaw, BBQ sauce and a choice of smoked meat or plant-based protein.
Cosmic brownie: A crumbled brownie with baked-in pretzels and M&Ms, and peanut butter sauce made with One Well’s State of Bean Coffee Blonde.
The pub opens at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 and stoner fare will be available throughout the weekend, McLean said.
