HARTFORD, CT – The state Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) has opened a public comment period to receive input on newly proposed regulations for adult-use cannabis and medical marijuana.
According to the DCP, the new regulations will mirror the original policies and procedures set up by the state for the Regulation of adult-use cannabis and will combine existing regulations for medical marijuana to “create a cohesive set of regulations.” Language remaining in the Palliative Use of Marijuana regulations is specific to medical regulation and does not overlap with the adult-use industry.
The DCP says the proposed regulations “will create clarity, stability, and consistency in the regulation of the legal cannabis market.”
Information about the regulation process can be found on the Connecticut General Assembly’s website.
The text of the proposed adult-use cannabis regulations and the medical marijuana regulations are posted to the state eRegulations Portal and open for public comment.
Members of the public may submit public comments through the state’s eRegulations system until Jan. 10, 2025, at 5 p.m.
