Norwalk police say they raided Vapesmart on Liberty Square after receiving complaints of illegal cannabis sales and vape products being sold to minors.
NORWALK — Police say they raided a vape store on Wednesday after receiving “numerous” complaints about the store selling marijuana products without a license.
Norwalk Police Lt. Tomasz Podgorski, the department’s public information officer, said officers executed a search warrant at Vapesmart at 203 Liberty Square after receiving complaints the shop was selling marijuana without a proper license and selling vape products to minors.
Police seized nearly 187 grams of marijuana packaged for resale, products containing illegal dosages of THC and $900, according to Podgorski.
A 30-year-old employee of the store was arrested and charged with possession of more than 5 ounces of cannabis not properly locked or stored and illegal sale/manufacture of cannabis.
Police are investigating if the vape shop was illegally selling marijuana and hallucinogens, Podgorski said.
