MIDDLESEX, NJ – A Piscataway man was arrested on charges of operating an illegal cannabis dispensary in Middlesex Borough, police there said on Friday.
Investigators determined that Christopher L. Twine, 36, was running Queen City Petro, an unlicensed dispensary located at 555 Bound Brook Road where they seized 23.3 pounds of raw marijuana, suspected marijuana-infused food products, items believed to have been used to operate the business, and over $17,000 in cash, said Middlesex Police Chief Matthew P. Geist.
Twine was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana and Money Laundering, said Geist.
“Illegal dispensaries attempting to circumvent state and borough regulations must be held accountable to the law,” said Geist. “This comprehensive and ongoing investigation by our officers and Detective Scott Mulford is integral to our mission of safeguarding our community from unregulated products and business practices.”
