According to the OCM, affected products failed to meet state-mandated safety standards, raising red flags about possible microbial contamination and inaccurate potency levels. The recall spans across multiple licensed dispensaries where these items had already reached consumers. Retailers have been directed to immediately remove the flagged products from shelves and notify purchasers where possible.
The regulator emphasized that public health remains its top priority as New York’s legal cannabis market continues to mature. Consumers in possession of the recalled items are advised not to use them and to return them to the point of sale.
This is not the first compliance concern in the state’s cannabis program, which has faced growing pains since legalization. Still, the OCM reiterated its commitment to maintaining rigorous testing standards and protecting consumers as the industry evolves.
An updated list of the recalled products and affected retailers is available on the OCM’s official website.
