INWOOD—Three Sioux Falls, SD, residents were arrested on charges of marijuana and illegal hunting following the investigation of “a suspicious vehicle” on the 1300 mile of 220th Street about six miles northwest of Inwood about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21.
Thirty-year-old Juliano Rosete was identified as the driver of the 2000 Chevrolet Astro van.
The strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle, and marijuana and an open container of alcohol were found in the vehicle, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Rosete had bloodshot/watery eyes, slurred speech and the odor of marijuana and alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. He also admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana, according to the incident report.
A urine sample from Rosete also showed a preliminary positive test for THC.
Two passengers, 35-year-old Amanda Valentine Johnson and 21-year-old Marciano Xury Rosete, also admitted to smoking marijuana.
The three occupants also admitted to road hunting. None of them possessed a hunting license, and it was after hunting hours.
Marijuana, three firearms and ammunition were found in the vehicle.
Juliano Rosette was charged with third-offense operating while under the influence; first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana; person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons; possession of an open container of alcohol as a driver; no valid driver’s license; and no nonresident hunting license and habitat fee.
