According to a federal criminal complaint unsealed this week, the Turkey Leg Hut, a well-known local restaurant, was allegedly linked to a drug trafficking operation that distributed hundreds of pounds of marijuana. The case drew attention after authorities claimed that some of the cannabis was packaged in bags bearing the restaurant’s official branding.
Federal investigators say the operation had been under surveillance for months, and the criminal enterprise involved more than just restaurant staff. The complaint alleges that individuals connected to the restaurant were moving significant quantities of marijuana through both local and interstate channels, using branded merchandise as part of the concealment strategy.
The FBI reportedly seized evidence during a series of raids and arrests, including packages of marijuana marked with the Turkey Leg Hut logo. Authorities believe the branding was used to disguise the true nature of the shipments and create the appearance of legitimacy.
As of now, no formal charges have been filed against the restaurant’s ownership, and the establishment remains open for business. Representatives of the Turkey Leg Hut have not issued a public statement, and attempts to contact them for comment were unsuccessful.
The investigation is ongoing, and federal officials emphasize that further arrests and charges may be forthcoming as more information is uncovered.
