BIG RAPIDS — The latest addition to the Big Rapids marijuana business community comes with the opening of Hasheesh Cannabis.
The new provisioning store opened Feb. 17 with various deals for customers throughout the day.
Hasheesh, at 548 S. State St., is a sister store to Rise Smoke Shop which is also offering deals for customers during the grand opening of the new store.
Christian Cain, the supervisor at Rise Smoke Shop, was at the new store to help management while they develop a staffing system.
“With a new shop, we’re hoping and bringing just excitement, very good prices, a variety of tons of products that are cheap and affordable,” Cain said. “If you want to go to something that is the most expensive and bougie we can add anything of your preference. We want to make sure that our customers are leaving with a smile on their faces, and we’re always trying to give away gifts for free.”
During the opening, every 15 minutes the store did giveaways for customers stopping in, and had a prize wheel customers could spin after spending $75 or more on products.
Two slots on the spin wheel give customers a chance to win 50% off of their total purchase.
Each day customers on the floor receive the gift of the day, and those who spend $100 or more are automatically entered to win a free ounce of flower.
Customers can inquire about additional deals and specials that will be available throughout the week by visiting the store.
Cain said the design of the new shop caters to the ability for customers to shop even while waiting.
“Our hope is to have the most friendly energy possible,” Cain said. “Our windows are open concept so that way if you’re standing in the entrance, you can still feel like you’re part of the party out there on the sales floor. You can see everyone that’s interacting, and look at what we have available. We want our customers to feel like they can come in and talk to us however long they’d like, the goal is to make them happy.”
Giving back is also a goal for Hasheesh’s staff, as he has been involved with Rise Smoke Shop’s efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic to aid the community.
Rise staff left out free water, toiletries and supplies out for locals in need, and have connected with several local organizations like Toys for Tots for fundraising opportunities.
Cain said connecting with new ways to help residents is always appreciated.
“We’re always trying to donate to whatever we can,” Cain said. “If there is ever a cause that someone wants help to support they are more than welcome to stop by and tell us about the cause we can try to help out with it as well. We want to create an environment like our rise customers they already know and trust us for what we do.”
This week, customers who shop at Hasheesh can bring a receipt to Rise Smoke Shop for 20% off products and vice versa for Hasheesh products with a valid receipt from Rise Smoke Shop.
Cain said there are plenty of products for people to explore.
“Some of my favorite products here is we have a very good line called Goldkine,” Cain said. “They have eight designer flower types, designer runtz is by far the best one. If you want an edible we have Kola Farm’s edibles, they just won the Cannabis Cup for best edible in 2022. For cartridges, we just got the new Breeze carts in and those are a fan favorite for everyone in town it seems Breeze has been very popular.”
