HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. — The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) seized hundreds of illegal cannabis products which were being illegally sold at a business in Humboldt County last week.
The sheriff’s office said that on Thursday, Dec. 12, deputies with the Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served two search warrants in efforts to investigate illegal cannabis sales at a smoke and glass shop. The warrants were served at two locations, one in 2200 block of 4th St. in Eureka and the other at an apartment in the 800 block of Bayside Rd. in Arcata.
HCSO said that this investigation was ongoing for weeks prior to the search warrants being issued. The investigation was targeting the illegal sale of cannabis products to minors at a retail location. HCSO said that the shop being investigated did not possess the required county permit and state license to sell cannabis commercially.
During the undercover operation, HCSO said that a juvenile employee was caught selling an illegal cannabis product to an underage decoy.
HCSO said that hundreds of pounds of illegal cannabis products which were available for purchase at the business location were seized during the operation.
HCSO did not report any arrests made at the time of the operation, they said that the investigation remains ongoing and anyone with additional information should contact the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at (707) 268-2539.
