A Connecticut man was arrested on Thursday after police allegedly found a large amount of marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop.
Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Greenfield Drive on Thursday for motor vehicle violations along with suspicious activity, according to the Bridgeport Police Department. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Marcus Acosta, of Meriden, was providing his documentation when one of the officers allegedly observed a large amount of marijuana and packaging materials in the backseat, police said.
Acosta was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle lead to the alleged seizure of 18.4 pounds of marijuana, $3,954.00 in U.S. currency and two cell phones, according to police
Acosta was charged with operation of a drug factory and possession with intent to sell one kilogram or more of cannabis and was being held on a $250,000 bond. Police also issued an infraction for tinted windows.
