Halloween Fun

Good Morning! Last night was Halloween, all the kids were out having a blast in my neighborhood. Seeing the children in their costumes was an amazing sight. They all seemed eager to get their hands on some candy, go figure. My two little girls, dressed as princesses, were happy to get out and see the festivities. My buddy asked me what I was going as for Halloween, my answer was the same as everyday…I’m goingHIGH. Hahaha. A few dabs later and I was out the door with the kids and my father.

It’s a great feeling for me as a father to see my girls light up with excitement as they walked down the street and started trick or treating. Really pleases me to see the smiles on their little faces. A few neighbors had some spectacular activities for the kids. There was a hayride, bonfires and even a movies being projected onto a huge screen. While it was a little chilly, granted it’s the end of October, that didn’t stop my two princesses from filling up their baskets to the point it was too heavy for them to carry.

I enjoyed walking around, spending time with my family and being able to share the feeling with my own father. Wasn’t that long ago that couldn’t imagine having this much enjoyment in life. My sense of purpose was blurred and it was hard to find the light at the end of the tunnel. Medicating with cannabis has greatly changed my life for the better. I can find happiness in the small things in life now that I have some peace. Growing up I never thought I could be this happy, I have an amazing support system in my family and friends. I’m able to keep my focus on the future and being the best father and husband I can be.

My youngest daughter was so amazed by all the activity, she passed out soon after we returned home from trick or treating. Before she crawled into bed, the last thing she told me was not to eat all her candy, because she wanted to save some. Of course I agreed and my wife somehow got both girls to quickly fall asleep. I was honestly surprised since they normally don’t eat a lot of sugary candy.

Getting ready for bed, I thought how lucky I am to have all these loving people in my life. I feel extremely fulfilled, even with all the craziness in life. I’m happy to be alive! Let today be even better than yesterday.
