Good Morning world! As you may know, DD has been pressing nugs in order to make rosin. Rosin is a solvent-less concentrate. It’s actually easy to make, you need a few things, but it tastes unbelievable. The real concern is the yield. You have to press a good amount of flower to collect a limited amount of rosin. The taste alone is worth trying, it is extremely fresh and so killer.
DD is working on a DiY project to increase my yields. Looking at the picture above you can see a decent extraction from a nug press, just using a hair straightener, parchment paper, high-end nug and some pressure. You let it settle in the freezer for a few minutes and start collecting the residue and you have rosin. So let’s get down to the project. For under $75, I went to Harbor Freight to purchase an arbor press and to Home Depot to buy some steel, but ended up getting a heavy-duty steel hinge and some gorilla glue. My intent is to build a heat press today, if I can get access to a welder. I want to make a prototype, so be on the lookout!
