Dabbin Dad’s 2016 Veteran’s Day Playlist – “You know what music is? God’s little reminder that there’s something else besides us in this universe; harmonic connection between all living beings, every where, even the stars.” – Robin Williams
I wanted to continue the tradition of creating a Veteran’s Day Playlist. Music is great form of meditation and therapy. I decided a while back to pick up the bass guitar again. I give myself some time each week to try to untap from life and attempt to create something fun. I’ve put together a playlist of songs that mean something different to me, remind me where I came from and express how I feel / felt at times in the service. Let me know what songs are important to you, by leaving a comment below.
#1. Metallica – “The Star Spangled Banner”
First and foremost, let us not forget the sacrifices people have made for this country and to its flag…
#2. Metallica – “Don’t Tread on Me”
I use to rock out to Metallica all the time during my time in the service. They still get me pumped. RIP Cliff Burton!!!
#3. Bruce Springsteen – “Born in the U.S.A”
What can I say… I’m a softy for the classics! Merica’….
#4. Hatebreed – “Puritan”
I was a kid from Connecticut in the hardcore scene, I still remember listening to this 7 inch until the needle wore out. I use to blare this in the barracks in Camp Pendleton and in the desert. I finished off my military by seeing them play in San Bernardino.
#5. Black Sabbath – “War Pigs”
This song rocks. It transcends generations! My father listened and pasted this onto me. I introduced my daughters to Black Sabbath at a young age. The little one loves all things metal and punk.
#6. AMERICA F*#K YEAH! MUSIC VIDEO – Team America World Police THEME SONG
