You know what never crosses my mind when going on a picnic with my family? Being blown up. You know what doesn’t cross my mind when I’m driving to a gig? Will I get caught in a cross fire? I’m certainly not worried about any of the helicopters in my neck of the woods shooting rockets at my house. If anything it is LifeStar because some yahoo decided to take A Triple Lindey in the river. I don’t have any of these worries because of our troops and veterans. Those that protect our homes, families, and way of life. This is/was no small task for these guys and they get the hell beat out of them along the way. That shit hurts and sometimes it leaves a mark. Those pains can be ongoing too, so give them some weed already.
In the U.S. Military, the issue of pain management remains a concern. This is why the idea of introducing medicinal marijuana into the context of the U.S. Military should be allowed as a healthcare opportunity. I get it though, it’s still debatable across the U.S. But weed as a painkiller in the U.S. Military should be recognized as a need due to the amount of pain that comes from the military experience.
The use of recreational marijuana should also be recognized as an option that a soldier can enjoy. Particularly in areas where local custom permits it. It should all be allowed under the Bill of Rights though, right? The Bill of Rights states that U.S. citizens are entitled to the opportunity to rest, as well as the chance to receive proper healthcare assistance. Some have lost VA benefits due to cannabis consumption. Not cool man.
The VA can initiate termination of VA appointment and/or dismissal from VA rotation against anyone who is found to use illegal drugs on the basis of a verified positive drug test, or refuses to be tested.
Denying the use of medicinal marijuana in the military setting infringes on the rights of the soldier and/or veteran. Sure, some changes need to happen in the current regulation concerning their applications on healthcare and the usage of weed. But it would definitely make a difference how the needs of soldiers are met.
The fact is that painkillers and other types of drugs used to treat pain in our troops are super addictive. This is worth mentioning. Or they’re just so bad that they kill your liver in the long term. Ultimately the heavy hitters lead to negative effects that in the long term are far worse than anything that could ever be caused by weed. Give the troops and vets some weed damn it!
