It’s June 22 2022. Much of what was going to occur was unfortunately postponed last minute. However, I was still asked to give coverage of the event. Who could say no to free floor tickets 🎟?
I’d never attended any events here, so it was all brand new to me. So I thought I should go in my general fashion… And just do whatever I want and go wherever I want until somebody tells me to knock it off. I’m just gonna act like I own the place. So off to the Westville Music Bowl I went to see Rebelution.
As I pulled up on this fine establishment I noticed that parking was $40. As if. I could pull up and tell them I’m on the guest list, but this was a work thing. I was on assignment. So I thought it would be best if I just parked in the employee lot and then smoke a bowl… Ease into things. There was no need to rush, plus I think I’m early.
I got my ticket and headed in. I grabbed an overpriced beverage and proceeded on to find my people. People are still arriving at this point, I was definitely early. So when all else fails, that’s when I light up.
After several minutes of walking around checking the place out I must have sounded an alarm somewhere.
“Excuse me sir!“ I heard from behind me. Then again and again and again quickly getting louder and closer.
The jig was up and it was time to face the music. I literally spun on my heel and stopped to face my caller. That threw him off because he was so close he almost bumped into me. 🤣 It was security.
“You can’t smoke that here. Come with me.” he barked. (I was smoking a bowl)
I thought for a second I might be getting thrown out. I wasn’t going to resist. That’s not my style… I went with it and was brought to a concrete corner that had an ashtray. Nobody puts Baby in the corner. I sent out the DabbinDad distress call…
I had received word that everybody was on the first level near the food trucks. I looked over the balcony of the 2nd floor. Low and behold there was the wildebeest himself, Dabbin’ Dad… Oh cool… Dad’s Dad is here too. Maybe he’ll scream “Free Dabs!”. If fact, the whole DD crew was here. Too cool.
Made my way down to the food trucks and had some really good popcorn… Then I found my crew. Always a great time.
We hugged, we toked a thousand joints, did some dabs, and played show and tell with our weed. It all just played along to the soundtrack of SteelPulse.
“Free Dabs!”
There it is. So that’s what we did. đź«
Time flies when you’re chilling… Rebelution was on. Everyone headed in, we all had floor tickets. I broke away from the pack and decided to find the highest point I could so I could look down on at all. They had lots of cool lights, and the sound was crisp and clean. Kick ass show and venue.
