Stainless steel is an iron alloy composed primarily of iron and chromium. At the surface of the material, chromium reacts with oxygen, creating an oxidized “passive layer” that prevents corrosion. Even when damaged it will re-oxidize to recreate its protective layer all by itself.
A variety of architectural components are made from stainless steel since it is highly durable and impervious to rust. When finished it can be found to be smooth and sexy as it is forged into things like Samurai Swords, the body of a DeLorean, or even a beautiful rolling tray. Yes a rolling tray. At least my new ones….
It is no secret that rolling trays can enhance your weed play. The days of transporting your weed from grinder to a paper or bowl with a plate are long gone. With the money you have to buy weed, you can spend a fraction of that on a rolling tray. This will make rolling easier, faster, more convenient, and possibly even less wasteful for you.
Many trays that are made these days are made of tin and riddled with cartoon characters or pictures of Cheech and Chong. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, some people REALLY like Mickey Mouse, but it may be time for an upgrade.
On that note, I’d like to introduce to you Royal Rolling Company. Brian Clark (owner) has been working with silver and fine metals his whole life. He also thought that with all of the evolution within this industry, it was time to evolve the rolling tray.
You might think “Silver? Pewter? Stainless Steel? These have got to cost a fortune.” Actually they don’t. They’re priced about the same as your standard cartoon tin trays. Everything on their site was about $20.
No Rick and Morty (even though I love that show), no Family guy, no Simpsons, and nothing made out of tin. Just stainless steel, silvery, and pewtery beauty. I received two, both of which are stunning. But the one I like a lot has two separate compartments. I put my papers and stuff on one side and my ganja in the other. A match made in absolute heaven. I’ve rolled about 10 out of this tray since I got it.
These are currently being offered exclusively at The Colchester Cabinet of Curiosities located at 288 Old Hartford Rd. Colchester CT. 06415.
