New York state is putting a rush order on cannabis sales with an approved delivery system that brings marijuana right to your doorstep.
The delivery option was put forth to allow approved dispensaries in the state a chance to make money while they build out retail locations.
Right now, 36 dispensaries have received authoritization. Two of them are in the Southern Tier, one in the Mohawk Valley and one in the North Country. However, there are none in Central New York, Western New York or the Finger Lakes, due to a pending lawsuit.
Seven approved locations for the Capital Region and the Hudson Valley are also blocked by a federal judge, due to the lawsuit.
Once the delivery system is up and running, customers will be required to place online, pre-paid orders. Delivery can be made by car, bike or scooter.
To buy recreational cannabis in New York, you have to be 21.
