So my wife and I did all of our partying in our younger days, not that we are old by any means, but with kids we obviously made the adjustment. Yesterday was a long day for the kids, ended up getting them in bed around 9:30pm last night. Not long after the kids were fast asleep, the wife and I decided it would be a good idea to call it a night as well. I was going to have a night time session, but was easily persuaded by the lack of sleep I had all last week, my bed was calling me! I’m not going to complain that I got six hours of sleep, but man is it quiet at 5am. Everyone is asleep, so what to do…hahaha. After a cup of coffee and reading the news, I decided to wake and bake. Even though I had just woken up, I went with the new Theraplant Valedica (Indica strain – Review coming soon). It tested around 17% THC with eight different terpenes, it really is a good tasting smoke. I mistakenly did not pick up the other two new Theraplant strains, but hey The Healing Corner is open tomorrow.
So I’m sitting here thinking how much fun my oldest daughter had last night, the little one is under 2 so she was limited in what she could do. We started the day off at a local Farmers Market where Elsa and Anna from Disney’s Frozen movie made an appearance for photo ops. The line was not that terrible, but man was it hot outside. I made fun of my sister in law because she was carrying an umbrella to stay in the shade, secretly I wanted to steal it from her. So after the photo op, the girls got their faces painted to look like butterflies which was super cute. They both loved that, but that’s not where the fun stopped. First we needed to stop at home and try to cool down. While the baby slept and the oldest ate, I went to medicate.
We then went to a friend’s house for his twins’ birthday party. Nothing like a bunch of kids running around with no care in the world. It was awesome, there was a bounce house, a magician and pool. The girls were having so much fun and dad decided to finally break down to have a Summer Shandy. I don’t normally drink because of the medication, but hell those things are like 4% alcohol, so I had two! After cooling down and the girls ate, I had some time to catch up with an old friend. We had a good conversation, I could tell he was in entertaining mode and it was getting late. We packed up the car and went to our next adventure… the carnival!
Talk about sensory overload for the girls! We met some of my family there. My oldest was extremely happy to get to hang out with her older cousin and go on all the rides (for her size). My niece is a doll, she had fun even though she went on a majority of kids rides. I went on this cool ride with my niece, so she would not have to go alone. She had a hard time jumping into the seat and I couldn’t get my head into the damn harness. It was like the ride was built for people between 5’6″ – 5’10” tall, very specific. Hahaha. It was cool though, the ride would swing left to right, while the seating area spun around. Surprisingly, it was a really fun 90 second ride. We then surprised the girls with pony rides!!! My youngest freaked out and decided to bail on the whole thing and eat instead, so the oldest went twice. When she was done she was so excited about the ponies, my aunt continued to spoil her with a light-up pink cowgirl hat.
It’s been years since returning from Iraq, but I had large moving crowds. Yesterday, ! was able to deal with the large crowds after a little medication. My wife decided it would be best to miss the fireworks for the girls, but man was I looking forward to the show. It was 7 years or so before I could deal with other people lighting off fireworks. It is once again one of my favorite summer activities. I think it is time that I go upstairs and get ready for today’s adventures.
