Today the Connecticut Judicial Committee is expected to vote on Raised S.B. No. 1085, an Act Concerning the Legalization of the Retail Sale and Possession of Cannabis and Concerning the Erasure of Criminal Records in the Case of Convictions Based on the Possession of a Small Amount of cannabis.
Contact your leadership and tell them you support legalization that promotes growth, opportunity, development and equity in our communities. Home grow is a right, not a luxury. Home grows are meant only for personal consumption and not for retail distribution, thus do not require regulations. Expungement will not work if it does not address felony non-violent cannabis charges. State tax revenue will not meet any expectations if the industry does not include small and micro businesses. Turning the industry over to corporate interests will only create a revenue stream out of the state.
