Who is ready to witness Connecticut Gubernatorial candidates make history by speaking candidly about cannabis, legalization, social and criminal justice reform and how we can fight the opiate crisis here in Connecticut!
This appears to be the first-ever Gubernatorial debate to structured around the topic of cannabis. According to a recent Sacred Heart Poll, 70.6 percent of Connecticut State respondents strongly or somewhat support legalizing and taxing marijuana. We need to diversify our tax revenue streams, by legalizing the adult consumption of cannabis we can create a new industry to do just that. We not only can benefit financially as a state by adding legalized consumption, but we should have an ethical desire to tearing down cannabis prohibition and ending the failed war on drugs. Too many lives have been ruined for what? Addiction? Recreational Use?
How would it feel to have a family member with an opiate issue, thrown in jail for their use of pharmaceuticals. Don’t fool yourself into thinking it’s not the same thing with cannabis. Before 1937, Cannabis was considered to be medicinal as it is now in the majority of US States. It wasn’t until the reported fears of immigrants and minority-use of “Marijuana” that were pushed onto society, that people were tricked into thinking there was a problem with cannabis. The last 80 years of prohibition were based on lies from an autocratic group of small-minded politicians. People with no understanding or insight to think for themselves dictated policy only to serve their agenda. Ignorance is not an acceptable excuse. When will people start demanding the truth?
The change starts on November 28th, 2017 in New Haven. We need to have leadership in Connecticut who is willing to sit down and make tough decisions. We need someone who is forward thinking and will truly identify with not only the financial gains of cannabis legalization, but ask themselves ethical questions: Is Cannabis Prohibition just? Does it pose a danger to society? Reading this, you know the answers.
When will politicians finally be the voice of the people and stop following these false narratives? We have a right to know where these candidates stand. Show your support by attending this event!
