TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A large drug bust is underway on Airport Highway Wednesday afternoon.
13 Action News is on the scene as law enforcement agents conduct a search of a home on Airport Hwy. Our crews saw officials bringing out truckloads of marijuana plants.
Ohio Revised Code shows adults in the state can legally grow 6 marijuana plants in their household. If there are at least two people 21 years old or older living in the house, you can legally have a maximum of 12 marijuana plants.
It’s unclear at this time what possible charges the person or people involved could be facing.
“They bring a swat team in here. They come to my door and start beating on my door. I open this window right there and I said, ‘Can I help you, please?’ He said, ‘We have a search warrant, unlock the door.’ I said, ‘Show me the search warrant.’ They refused to show me the search warrant. That’s when they busted my door in, they pushed me down into dog s*** to cuff me, they joint locked me. I never resisted not one bit,” the owner of the home, Mike Carr said.
Carr said the plants are hemp plants which means they do not contain THC he also said that not all of his plants were taken.
“You cannot violate people’s rights like this. Come in against a first, fourth, or fifth, amendment right. They ransacked my house and stole private property. Why is there fentanyl on the streets why is there child pornography on the internet for godsake, and this is what we’re spending money on? Taking plants away from somebody that’s legal and lawful?” the owner of the home, Mike Carr said.
