A high-speed collision on June 19 in Orange, Connecticut, unfolded right in front of two officers in their patrol car, prompting a manhunt after the driver fled on foot, police said.
A speeding Mercedes ran a red light at 10:34 pm and struck a Ford Escape at an intersection. Five people were injured, police said, three in the Mercedes and two in the Ford.
The driver of the Mercedes fled to a wooded area, police said, and despite a K9 being used, was not found.
A loaded handgun, a substantial amount of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found in the Mercedes, police said.
