PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) — A man was arrested outside of a government building late Sunday after reportedly driving a “suspicious vehicle” around closed businesses and exhibiting “numerous indicators” that he was a drug dealer, police say.
An officer was prompted to make contact around 11 p.m. and then found a loaded handgun, 647.7 grams of marijuana, 67 THC cartridges, scales and $748 in cash.
Maykol Tarajano Montalvo, 19, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, two counts of possession of a firearm during a felony, unauthorized carry of a concealed firearm and 68 counts of possession of a controlled substance — THC — without a prescription, records show. As of Friday evening, the man is still in jail.
A Palm Beach Gardens Police Department (PBGPD) officer watched Montalvo driving a heavily tinted Audi sedan.

The officer observed Montalvo traveling on PGA Boulevard, into the closed PGA Superstore parking lot, back onto PGA Boulevard then into the North County Government Center parking lot where he turned his car off, police say.
The officer made contact because of the strange behavior.
While being questioned, Montalvo appeared nervous, the affidavit said, and told the officer he was just parking to “eat and smoke” with his passenger, Felicia McCray.
The PBGPD officer reportedly had probable cause to search the vehicle and asked the couple to exit the Audi.
A chambered .40-caliber Glock with 12 rounds was directly beneath the driver’s seat, and a loaded Palmetto State Armory rifle was in the backseat, according to the arrest report. The hundreds of grams of marijuana, a box labeled “This package contains cannabis” containing the dozens of THC vials, an additional pistol magazine, ammunition and scales were inside a duffel bag in the backseat.
Montalvo allegedly confessed all the narcotics and firearms were his on two separate occasions, police say.
His total bond amount was set at $220,000. According to court dockets, Montalvo’s mother and sister were present at his first appearance hearing Monday morning.
