The survey found that a majority of psychedelic users dabble in microdosing: about 70% of psilocybin users, 65% of MDMA users, and nearly 60% of LSD users tried it at least once. Overall, this means roughly 3–4% of U.S. adults are sneaking in small trips on a regular basis.
Psilocybin remains the most popular psychedelic, followed by MDMA, ketamine, and LSD. Researchers say the numbers highlight a growing trend of recreational use outside clinical settings and raise questions about safety, mental health effects, and regulation.
Whether it’s to chase productivity, creativity, or just a little existential clarity, microdosing is proving to be more mainstream than most would have guessed—tiny trips, big impact.
