The new service allows concertgoers to place cannabis orders via smartphone while attending shows at the popular entertainment venue. However, to maintain legal and safety standards, all orders must be picked up at a Fine Fettle dispensary offsite—no cannabis will be sold or distributed on amphitheater grounds.
Fine Fettle Chief Operating Officer Ben Zachs emphasized that the service is not only about convenience but also about education and responsible access. “Our goal is to meet people where they are while respecting the boundaries of Connecticut’s cannabis regulations,” said Zachs. “The mobile platform gives adults a way to explore legal cannabis options in an environment where they’re already enjoying themselves.”
To ensure compliance, the amphitheater will not allow onsite advertising or consumption of cannabis products. Instead, promotional material will include discreet signage with QR codes linking to the ordering platform. These measures align with state mandates, which strictly prohibit public cannabis use and advertising at public events.
This development is part of a growing trend across the country as entertainment venues explore ways to responsibly integrate cannabis into their business models. Connecticut’s legal cannabis market, which opened to recreational sales in early 2023, continues to expand amid ongoing regulatory oversight and public health considerations.
While the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater remains primarily a music venue, this collaboration signals a broader cultural shift—one where legal cannabis is becoming more integrated into mainstream leisure experiences, albeit with clearly defined boundaries.
