Today could mark a momentous day in history, if legislators stand up for urban revitalization and equity for POC in our cities. Cannabis legalization is coming and it is important that POC are included in leading this new industry in the state. For too long, cannabis prohibition has unjustifiably destroyed the lives of generations and with no prevail. Cannabis is a medicine and so much more. It is not the hard narcotic that some would still like you to believe. Cannabis is not a gateway to harder drugs.
Addiction should be treated with assistance not incarceration. A luxury not always available to all people. With cannabis legalization, this could be just one of the many new programs available for all.
