Smoked the Vote!
Last night was the highly anticipated conclusion to the election, and there was much on the line. There was obviously the question of who would be our next president, but other important legislation had to be voted on! Would we be able to break down the long held stigmas and legalize our favorite plant?
East Coast:
Our east coast brethren in Massachusetts and Maine went to the polls and smoked the vote for sure! Massachusetts confirmed first that Question 4 was passed, Maine followed suit with approving question 1. Two states right near us got it together enough to vote for a positive change, Connecticut is next!
West Coast:
Our friends on the west coast had some huge wins last night as well! California worked together to pass Proposition 64! We all know their attitude was very lax before the election, leading the way for the rest of the united states, but now they are definitely pioneers in their own right. Nevada was next, like a domino effect, and they approved question 2.
Medical:
Last night was also a big win for patients in states who don’t already have safe access to medical cannabis! North Dakota, Florida, Arkansas and Montana all passed medical cannabis legislation so their residents can have safe access. As a medical patient here in Connecticut, I felt their pain for awhile but I am very glad they’ve made steps in the right direction! Washington DC also allowed for reciprocity.
Overall I am super proud of my fellow citizens for getting off their asses and collectively being the change they want to see, slowly we are breaking down the stigmas on cannabis. If we all work together we can accomplish literally anything. Regardless of your thoughts on the winner of the election, we all come out on top because we legalized!
