A company, the products, and the origin.
I was at one of the Bazaars and happened across this group called Oops. I just kind of stumbled on them when looking at vendor tables. I found them to be an interesting twosome. They’re a brother and sister team that make CBD based products in Norwalk CT. They had agreed to meet up and talk about what they do. So, I was off and running…
I hopped into my Tie Fighter and headed south. It should be almost a straight shot. Pedal to the floor, windows down, music cranked to 11, and oh! there’s some tree work gotta wait. Okay zoom Zoom ZOOM, wait, more tree work. Atomic batteries to power. Turbines to speed! And more traffic. Is it more tree work? Nope, it’s a broken down truck with an oversized load of portapotties. I swear, i can’t make this stuff up….
After arriving and a pleasant exchange of salutations we went indoors and I sat with the dynamic duo of Oops who are Trae and Indigo. That’s when Indigo pulled out a baby arm sized doobie. These are great greetings. Then I stared at the glass mascot on the table.
They gave me a bag of stuff. I love stuff. The bag was packed with a variety of goodies. There were chocolates, gummys, tintures, and topicals. I love presents, it always gives me something to mess around with at another time. Good stuff for sure…

The Wonder Twins are really Trae Riddle and Indigo Cohn. Trae being the product creator and Indigo handling the business side. They’ve been at it together since the very beginning. Which is cool considering most siblings can’t even look at one another for more than 5 minutes without an incident. These two are running a business.
It all began with Indigo. When she was 12 years old, she began to get sick. Through a series of long grueling doctor visits, it was determined that Indigo had a wasting disorder, which means she has an inability to process nutrients. It used to be a situation of chronic vomiting and then a feeding tube. Many hospital visits were soon to follow and then the morphine. It would seem that it was easier to sedate her than it was trying to fix her.
“They don’t really have any way of fixing it. It’s because it just becomes a constant fight mode.” Indigo explained. “It came down to 2 options. Get Chemotherapy to try and kill a disease that they can’t pinpoint so to speak or just deal with it. I certainly wasn’t going to take the Chemo route. So, I had to figure out a way to deal with it.”
The morphine and other drugs Indigo was being given were not helping, they were hurting. Down the spiral she went. She described having no quality of life. She began to tire from the medication that was supposed to be helping, but then she noticed something…
She was already toking at the time and realized that it helped a little. It wasn’t an instant cure. But it was better. This is where the experiments began. This is when it started to come alive. They started to make butter which was then put into their first brownies and they were creating it together and eating the brownies together. Then something new happened. She didn’t need morphine that day.
The experiments continued and they turned a couple of lbs of cannabis into butter and cooking oil then came the creations of more brownies, cupcakes, and chocolate. In the end it was the chocolates that worked best for her.
“We made chocolates and we made dark chocolates, so I wasn’t just eating pounds of sugar. It WORKED, it was yummy, and it was easy to keep down. It worked and I didn’t have to sit there like a Zombie on Morphine anymore.” Indigo concluded.
It was through these edible creations in which Team Oops Products were first created. It was originally OopsIAteMyWeed.com (Began late 2014) which focused around consumable recipes and infusion techniques. The goal was to empower people to have an ability to create their own edibles and they wanted to share this with everyone.
They were just giving it away and it got noticed. Thousands of social media likes and shares along the way. In 2015 Elise McDonough of HighTimes featured their website and was sharing their recipes online which led them to HighTimes powered events. It gave them an audience to present those recipes to in real life. Their business thrived during this time period and built a name which had resonated within their community.
In 2018 when the new farm bill passed, they killed the brand. No really… Like, I mean they killed it and gave it a funeral on Instagram Live and had more then 500 viewers login for the procession. A box of memorabilia ranging from stickers to chocolate 🍫(D9). Some gave a eulogy while others were simply voyeurs. A final farewell to Oops I Ate My Weed. Team Oops Products was born the very next day and entered a legal market place.
The audience followed with the reputation they had built. It was the people and the story that they followed. Rightly so, it’s family oriented business that wants to give back to its community. Plus the entire product line is done in house.
Trae has kitchen experience from dish washer to Chef and all points in between. Every edible is of Trae’s formulation (The topical was Indigo’s little brain child but Trae makes it). In addition Trae was a formulation specialist for a New England extraction firm. He’s an extraction edible making kitchen pit-bull. The material used to create their products all come with lab results which get retested to insure accuracy. Plus once the product is created it then gets retested for quality assurance.
“Understanding the perspective of the kitchen, that’s my investment into Team Oops Products. Bringing all the years I spent learning how to cook into this industry, we can bring a high caliber professionally formulated product. This was something that we saw that the market was lacking.” Trae told me. “All hand made, nothing machine made. For that product right there (It was the gummy’s) it took us 4 days to finish. Between mold, cast, and package, yah… 4 days. And that’s not including the lab reports. Those can take up to 21 days.”
The quality shows and they’ve even been able to reach locations across 30 states with formulations to accommodate each local custom. They do a lot of reformulating. Locally owned and operated, based in family values and using local supplies to create entirely local products. It’s a company that began kind heartedly to help a family member and just took off from there. A good company, run by good people, making good products.
